Its no secret that in Australia our homes are too large, are mostly poorly built and are generally not suitable for our fluctuating and variable climate. We are also in the midst of a housing crisis, and have some of the most expensive homes in the world. In this project our aim was to challenge conventional perceptions of space and sustainability in housing. Amidst the current housing crisis, we have designed a compact yet enduring family home designed to meet modern needs whilst minimising environmental impact.
This innovative dwelling prioritises efficiency without compromising comfort. Through considered orientation and positioning of windows, insulation and improved air tightness, it promises reduced heating and cooling expenditures, aligning with sustainable living practices. Every essential space required by a growing family has been cleverly integrated into its compact footprint, redefining the possibilities of smaller-scale residential architecture.
Our vision extends beyond the square meterage of the house; we aim to set a new standard for sustainable family living. This home is crafted to serve generations, embodying durability and functionality without excess, offering a model of responsible homeownership for the future.
